The Oddities of Madi...

thank haylie for the title..
i told her what i was blogging about
and she just nodded her head catching on quickly
"oh yeah.. the oddities of madi"
haha  so there you have it..
i'm odd in the eyes of the world apparently ;)
and i don't blame people for thinking so.

1.  i could talk about the gospel 24/7

2.  i'm constantly changing my lifestyle.
i will tell all who will listen about my latest habits:
"oh! i've been running and exercising and eating healthy!"
and then the next week:
"oh yeah, i've been eating awful and haven't exercised in weeks, but i've been spending so much time with my roommates!
a change in priorities is all!"
and the one i haven't seen in a month:
"i haven't missed a single class!"
--pshh.. wish i could say that now.
Why can't i just do it all!?  And stick to what i say?  live a life of consistency? i must be giving everyone whiplash!
i'm certainly am giving it to myself!

3.  i have lists and lists of things i feel like i need to do and never feel satisfied with what i do accomplish.

4.  my roommates ask me if i am going to go out with them like they already know the answer will be "uhhh?? possibly!" --sad! [according to haylie, that's my polite "no" haha. it is pretty true.]

5.  one of the common jokes regarding myself is: "oh, i almost just botched that very phrase!"
-because i am the queen of making absolute no sense.  so when someone says something i was about to say, we joke that its good they said it, because if i had, it would have been botched!

6.  my roommates cherish the times that i am sarcastic, because it is something i have to try really hard to do! [and i do it with a conscious effort, just to please them!] it just isn't in me!! -lemme tell ya, it isn't easy living in a home full of witty, sarcastic, socially inclined girls when you don't have those qualities! haha.  i am so abnormal!  if you are joking, i can promise i will believe everything you say... at least for ten seconds.  sarcasm is NOT easily interpreted in this little brain.

the next two stories will give you a little more of an idea of the typical me these days:

story one.

somehow, -i can never tell you how, its just me. its fine, its fine- while sitting in our little chair, reading haylie's blog, in our cave one morning, i managed to tip my cereal bowl completely sideways [complete 90 degree angle i tell ya] -with my hand all up in the bowl.

pretty soon half of the cereal was in my lap.
the cold cold cold milk was seeping through my pajama pants. and little me, not knowing what to do with this predicament,
just squawked at Sierra:
"squawwk [our form of "ahh!"]
what do i do!?? Heeelp!"

here is a picture of what was left of my fresh bowl of cereal:

mmhmm.. where was the rest?

in my lap:

and don't worry, it seeped through to the back..

yeah.. this is my typical pose when i am so embarrassed with myself.  i would call it the "i'm so cool pose"
-because i do it when i know i'm not.

Sierra and i were laughing for probably twenty minutes straight.  it was such a fun time!
but honestly, my pride was very wounded.
as you can see, i already was in desperate need of a shower, and was already so self conscious of my lack of girliness.  seriously, i really need to be better about being a girl.  i need to be more clean, and have better skin, paint my nails, shave my legs. this was not a fun addition to that list:
eat my food without getting it all over me.
hahaha do i really need to learn this??
humph.

 story two.

as of late, money has been tight,
so.. i have become a plasma donor:

[while we are revealing the odd side of me, i thought i'd put up the black sheep of the "first time donating" photos.
yes. haylie got this. i'm a beauty right? go ahead. zoom in, zoom in. take a good look.]

so, back to my story.
being tired of asking sweet jessca for rides,
i decided i'd bike to plasma today.
with a packed lunch, might i add.
i ate ferociously, and then got going.
they told me my heart rate was too high
[107 haha]
so i had to go rest for five minutes.

five minutest later,
i get checked again.  102 this time.
two over.  okay, i thought, i'll take another five minutes.  but the worker politely informed me i only had two chances and couldn't donate the rest of the day. uhhh.. could you have told me that before i did the second round? i would have rested much, much longer!  i decided it wasn't worth being mean to him over. nor is anything worth being rude to anyone over, ever. so i said, "bummer"
and walked out thinking, "my life!"

well, the best hadn't even happened yet.

i was cruisin' along when sierra called me.  i decided to take the call
while riding the bike.
yes, i know, i know.
pretty soon, a fellow biker is coming towards me on the sidewalk. it happened so fast, i don't know whose fault it was, but all i know is i -between him on my left and the base of the street light on my right- didn't have room!..

with sierra on the phone to witness it- squawk, screeching brakes[me], and all-
this man and i collided!

..handles only :)
haha i mean the cruiser's handles aren't meant for tight squeezes by any means!

but seriously?? NEVER happened before!
but if it is going to happen to anyone..
it'll be me.

after many "are you okays?" and much laughter on my part and apologies, we went our separate ways.  i did note the black man in his truck [ten feet away, waiting to turn left] looking at me like i was the
biggest idiot, dumb blonde.
i can't blame him.
and the phone reeally didn't help anything ha.

so, i still managed to inform sierra [idiotically] that i had just crashed into a man, and she replied "yeah, i know"
..yeah. you just heard the whole thing right??

pretty sure, the whole way home,
i couldn't help but laugh and feel like a freak of nature. and i of course returned home to sierra for a good, gasping for air -type of laugh :)

so, thats the end of my stories.
and telling them reminded me of  multiple other stories i could tell.  but i think you get the point..

why am i so abnormal??

the other night i asked jessica
-apparently was a bad idea-
if it bothered her that she has ADHD tendencies??

"Jessica does it sometimes bother
you that you.."

was turned into her saying that i said,

"Jessica does it sometimes bother you that you are the way you are??"  -oh stop.

but said or not, i justify it simply:
sometimes it bothers me that I'M the way i am!
haha

i mean, really.. i constantly wonder why i always feel so different from everyone else??

do you all still like me even though you don't understand or relate to me 90% of the time??

goodness, i'm already concerned, and then moments like these just have to happen!

awesome.

..i hope you at least enjoy them.

humph ..  :)
